Internships are available in either their New York or Geneva office and usually lasts between three and six months.
Interns work on a variety of tasks that may include:
• Communicating with United Nations Associations (of which there
are over 100 all around the world)
• Liaising with diplomats, NGOs and UN Secretarial staff
• Event management ( WFUNA holds meetings throughout the year)
• Website maintenance
• Preparation of project proposals
• Working on the bi-monthly newsletter – UN Connections
• Administrative activities
As well, interns may develop their own projects in close consultation with the WFUNA staff, for example Interns have:
• Participated in UN Preparatory Committees for major conferences, produced position papers and represented WFUNA at the conference
• Designed, organized and conducted a session of the WFUNA Academy for A Better UN for UNA participants, in the context of major UN conferences
• Conducted research and produced papers on aspects of international law that are now on the WFUNA website – under the WFUNA Academy for a Better UN
• Produced strategy papers for UNAs to participate in the Global Compact – published on the WFUNA website
• Created new online networks, particularly relating to youth and Model UN
